Toby Willis, newcomer to the club, has won the 9th Jurassic Blitz Tournament!
Toby and Jon Underwood shared the top scores both with 5/6, with Toby taking the trophy on the tiebreak.
Ray Hunt and Joe Ford also won grading prizes.
There was an great turnout of 12 players coming as far afield as Sidmouth and Wellington.

The club will reopen on Wednesday 5th October 2022 and we are going to start the season with a Blitz Tournament! The competition is open to all so non-members are most welcome and there will be a trophy for this first event of the season to keep!Â
The 54th Annual General Meeting of the Seaton Chess Club was held on 17th August 2022. The meeting enjoyed a very good turnout with 8 members in attendance.Â
As well as discussing club matters for the forthcoming year, the trophies for the club championship were presented by the chairman, Jon Underwood, with Paul Hampton receiving the Cheeseman Club for winning the Club Championship.
Gill Morgan won both the Caines Cup and Porter Cup with an exceptional performance in the Open Major section of the Club Championship.Â
Joe Ford won the junior section of the Club Championship and is recipient of the new Bryn Newton Shield, which was kindly funded by Gill Morgan and Steve Dean.Â
The AGM for Seaton Chess Club will take place on Wednesday 17th August 2022 at 6.30pm.Â
Please attend if you can as there will be some important decisions to make for the club so we need as much representation as we can. We will also be presenting the club trophies for the various club competitions held this season.
