We are happy to announce that the Seaton Chess Club will reopen for face to face chess on Wednesday 6th October 2021!
Please note however that we have decided to take some measures to mitigate the risk of Covid so please read our policy here before attending.
New members are always welcome, so please join us at 6.30pm at the Seaton Gateway (1st floor) to meet some of the other members and play some friendly games of chess!
The AGM for Seaton Chess Club will take place on 9th September 2021 at 6.30pm.
The intention is to have it in the garden so it will be socially distanced.
Please attend if you can as there will be some important decisions to make for the club so we need as much representation as we can.

No less than four Seaton players are featuring in the Semi-Finals of the DCCA Online Winter Grand Prix.
The Grand-Prix ran between 18th January and 26 February 2021, and incorporating six 9+3 Rapid and six 5+2 Blitz events. A player’s “Grand-Prix score” was calculated based on a player's best three results in both styles of event. The final standings can be found here.
We are now in the Semi-Final knock-out stage with Paul Hampton and Jon Underwood competing in the Championship and Steve Dean and Charlie Keen in the Graded (U160) event.
Live commentary of the games will be broadcast by Tom Thorpe on his twitch account https://www.twitch.tv/chesster1883 so please tune in to cheer on the players!
Good luck to everyone and here's hoping for an all Seaton-final!
