A steady build up from White who never stood worse. Black needed some better ideas to handle the structure that arose in this game. 1. e4 [0.18] 1... c6 [0.31] 2. d4 [0.24] 2... d5 [0.24] 3. exd5 [0.08] 3... cxd5 [0.18] 4. Bd3 [0.1] 4... Nc6 [0.26] 5. c3 [0.19] 5... Nf6 [0.19] 6. h3 6... e6 7. Nf3 [0.28] So, White has a small plus, and a fairly simple plan to follow of occupying e5 and moving towards a King's-side attack -- as he might do on the Black side of a Karlsbad structure, which is pretty well what we have here. Black needs to play with some energy and accuracy to counter this -- but above all, with a plan. 7... Qb6 8. Qe2 [0.6] 8... Bd6 [0.59] 9. Nbd2 [0.35] 9... O-O 10. Ne5 [0.49] 10... Qc7 [0.62] 11. Ndf3 [0.62] 11... Bxe5 12. Nxe5 [0.74] 12... Re8 13. Bf4 [1.34] 13... Qa5 14. O-O [1.83] 14... Qb6 [1.98] ?! 15. Rab1 [1.75] 15... a6 16. Qf3 [2.19] White stands well. +− 16... h6 [4.98] Blunder. Ne4 was best. Apparently a cautious move, but it was not cautious enough. ?? 17. Bxh6 [4.85] ! +− 17... Nxe5 [5.62] 18. dxe5 [5.21] 18... Nd7 [12.37] Mistake. gxh6 was best. ? 19. Qg3 [12.36] 19... Kf8 [12.08] 20. Qxg7+ [11.88] 20... Ke7 [11.06] 21. Bg5+ [15.08] 21... Nf6 [13.31] 22. Qxf6+ [12.96] 22... Kd7 [12.22] 23. Qxf7+ [11.93]
